Introduction to River Kayaking

Time: All day

Description:

This course on beginning whitewater kayaking will cover the basics and give you an overview of river travel and safety. The outing includes an exciting and informative day of kayaking on one of the local rivers, the exact location depending on flows. You will learn to read water and understand basic river orientation. Instruction will cover eddy turns, peel outs, river ferrying and paddling techniques. Additional activities may include a river safety section that involves the use of basic river safety equipment specifically adapted for kayaking situations.

Additional Public Info: Program Fee Includes: instruction, kayaks, river gear and permit fees. Don't forget to ask about the River Kayak Series which includes Kayak Fundamentals and a Roll Session. Bundle classes and save money!
