Humboldt Symphony performs Beethoven’s greatest concerto, the Emperor, with student concerto competition winner Levi Walls at the piano. Other selections are Handel’s Water Music Suite, the Karelia Suite by Sibelius, and The Creation of the World by Darius Milhaud, a jazz-influenced piece from the 1920s that has probably never been performed before at HSU because of its complexity. But this semester, a perfect combination of advanced players on the required instruments will make this a concert highlight. The Humboldt Symphony is conducted by Paul Cummings, and the concert is produced by the HSU Music Department.
