Join us for a three-day seminar featuring three films from Spain. There will be a half-hour presentation in Spanish and English at 6:00 p.m., followed by a screening of each film. After the film screenings, there will be a panel discussion.
The guest speaker for this year’s festival is Dr. Aurora Morcillo-Gómez, Professor of History at Florida International University, a specialist in women and gender relations under the Franco regime in Spain.
The following films will be shown:
March 5: ¡Ay, Carmela! (1990)
March 6: Mujeres al Borde de una Ataque de Nervios (Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) (1988)
March 7: Solas (Alone) (1999)
Presented by College of the Redwoods’ Modern Languages Department and Humboldt State University’s Department of World Languages and Cultures.
Price: Free to students enrolled in the class/ $6 for community members
