HSU Symphonic Band follows Handel in the Strand with some Strange Humors, and the Jazz Orchestra takes Seven Steps to Heaven in their shared concert.
The Band (conducted by Paul Cummings) plays works by Percy Grainger, Michael Colgrass and others, including “Strange Humors” by John Mackey that features student Neil Bost playing the West African drum, the djembe. Jazz Orchestra (directed by Dan Aldag) features a vocal by Jo Kuzelka, and solos by Nev Mattinson, Josh Foster, Nick Durant, Dan Fair, Alex Espe, Steven Workman and McKenna Smith.
