SUMMARY:Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for this historical day honoring the late Fred
Korematsu, a Japanese American who fought for civil rights during World W
ar II.\n\nIn 1942, Fred Korematsu was arrested for refusing to go to a WW
II incarceration camp for Japanese-Americans. He appealed his case all th
e way to the Supreme Court, which ruled against him. The court said the i
ncarceration was justified due to military necessity. Forty years later,
the discovery of new evidence allowed Korematsu to re-open his case with
pro-bono lawyers. In 1983, a federal court in San Francisco overturned Ko
rematsu's conviction. It was a pivotal moment in civil rights history.\n\
nIn 1998, Korematsu received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Bill
Clinton, the nation’s highest civilian award. Mr. Korematsu passed away
in 2005 at the age of 86.\n\nIn 2010, California passed a bill marking e
very January 30 as Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties. It is the first
day in U.S. history named after an Asian American.\n\n4:00 - 4:15 - Welc

SUMMARY:Tommy Emmanuel
DESCRIPTION:Tommy Emmanuel is one of Australia's most respected musicians,
and one of the world’s most impressive guitar players. His intricate
finger style” technique is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist p
lays piano, using all ten fingers. Rather than relying on a whole band fo
r melody, rhythm, bass, and drum parts, Tommy plays it all—and more—o
n one guitar simultaneously. Moving effortlessly from folk to rock, jazz,
country, and blues with remarkable flair and unforgettable showmanship,
Tommy Emmanuel “is unquestionably one of the most gifted artists of our
  time.”—Acoustic Guitar

SUMMARY:Foundation Training Drop-In Group Fitness
DESCRIPTION:Foundation Training is an adaptive training tool focusing on s
trengthening important muscle chains with its primary focus on the lower
back. Foundation uses a body weight exercise system to reinforce proper m
ovement patterns allowing large groups or chains of muscles to work toget
her.\n\nOur current lifestyles cause us to sit more; leaving important mu
scle groups inactive. Proper movement can help us eliminate pain and prev
ent physical breakdown. Using a braced spine and hip hinge is the foundat
ion of proper movement. We will learn a variety of moves and postures des
igned to increase strength and flexibility. Ideal for athletes, chronic p
ain sufferers or those looking for a new exercise routine.
