Percussion Ensemble performs an intricate Balinese ritual-based work plus pieces by John Cage, Michael Udow and Lynn Glassock, followed by the World Percussion Group performing traditional Mandeng drumming of West Africa, using only indigenous instruments. Then the Humboldt State Calypso Band takes the stage with their high-energy dance music of Caribbean Carnival, featuring the Panorama steel band classic, “Pan in A Minor.” Eugene Novotney and Howard Kaufman conduct.
