5:30 pm-7:00 pm	“California's Clean Energy Future: Policies and Politics” Science B HSU's Sustainable Futures speaker series presents Anthony Eggert, executive director of the UC Davis Policy Institute for Energy, Environment and the Economy, which is dedicated to leveraging University of California expertise to inform better policy. Anthony will present a free, public lecture entitled, "California's Clean Energy Future: Policies & Politics” on Thursday, November 1 at 5:30 p.m. in Science B 135 on the HSU Campus. From 2007 through 2012, Anthony served as an appointee of Governors Brown and Schwarzenegger in several senior policy positions including science and technology policy advisor to the chair of the Air Resources Board, commissioner for the California Energy Commission, and deputy secretary for energy policy of the California Environmental Protection Agency, overseeing clean energy and environmental policy development for California. Prior positions include advising the University of California on federal energy and climate policy, directing research on low-carbon fuels and vehicles at UC Davis' Institute of Transportation Studies, and as an engineer and then manager for Ford Motor Company. Anthony serves on the boards of the Alliance to Save Energy, the UC Energy Institute at Haas, the UC Transportation Sustainability Research Center, and is a technical advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy. Anthony received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and master of science degree in transportation technology and policy from UC Davis. 6:30 pm-Nov 29th 9:30 pm	Exploring Watercolor III Forestry The first two class meetings will be devoted to introducing more information about the use of color. You will create two more paintings, each incorporating a different type of color scheme, one analogous and the other triadic. The final two weeks you will utilize your previously acquired skills to create a full-color fantasy painting, story illustration, or abstract piece combining organic and inorganic elements on a full sheet of watercolor paper. There will also be a special video presentation on the technique of Fresco Painting. Previous watercolor experience is recommended.

There will also be a raffle for a brand new 4/3 wetsuit, local artwork and two locally shaped boards.

7:30 pm	Theatre, Film & Dance Production of "8" Van Duzer Theater An all-star North Coast cast presents “8” a staged reenactment of the federal trial that led to an appellate court's overturn of California's Proposition 8 banning same sex marriage. Written by Dustin Lance Black, an American screenwriter, director, film and television producer, and LGBT rights activist. Black has won two Writers Guild of America Awards for his work on the television series Big Love and an Academy Award for the 2008 film Milk.
8:00 pm	Latinologues Gist Hall Theater An HSU student production, Latinologues is an award winning, nationally recognized collection of comedic and poignant monologues about the Latino experience in America that was created, written, directed and produced for stage by Rick Najera, one of America's leading comedy writers.
