11th Annual Q-Fest

Description:
La Otra Familia is the story of Hendrix, a 7-year-old child that's been abandoned by his crack-addict mother Nina. Her friend Ivana rescues him, however, she can't take care of him because of an up- coming trip. Jean Paul and Chema, an adult, stable, gay couple, and friends of Ivana, were given the task of taking care of Hendrix while his mother spends some time in rehab. Patrick, Nina's lover and dealer attempts to sell Hendrix to a young couple to pay off a debt. Hendrix slowly adapts to his new life with Jean Paul and Chema.
Q-Fest is a 3-day, student organized event of feature films that examines queer issues and the intersection of race, gender and sexual orientation. All films are followed by a facilitated discussion.
