All day-Oct 7th	Backpacking the Trinity Alps Clear streams, grassy meadows, waterfalls, swimming holes, alpine lakes await in the Trinity Alps Wilderness Area. This backpacking trip offers the experience of back country exploration and the opportunity to meet other backpackers. The trip will consist of moderate high country terrain and cover 10-12 miles round trip. The specific trailhead and destination will be determined at the pre-trip meeting.

Then come by from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for the swap meet. There will be a clothing swap, art supplies, and just about anything you can find at a thrift store.
7:00 pm	Gary Lemons Kate Buchanan Room Gary Lemons worked most of his life outdoors with his hands. He’s fished Bristol Bay in Alaska, tree planted the clear cuts of the Pacific Northwest, worked high steel as a welder, slip formed concrete, and worked on farms. He’s published three books of poetry: Fresh Horses, Bristol Bay and his most recent Snake. “. . .I [have not] seen such challenges made to the questions of what is voice, what is dream—brilliant book!”, is how Norman Dubie described Snake. Tickets are available at the University Ticket Office and at humboldt.edu/aspresents.
7:45 pm	The Humboldt Circus Presents Illum-a-lot-i HSU Campus With things that glow, blink and some that disappear, this glow black light show will make your mouth drop and your mind expand! Bring glow toys if you have them for after the show. Half of the proceeds support the Humboldt Juggling Society.
