Science on Tap

Time: 6:00 pm-7:30 pm

Description:

Michael Kauffmann, author of "Conifer Country: A Natural History and Hiking Guide to 35 Conifers of the Klamath Mountain Region," will present an informal seminar open to the public at Blondie's.

The Klamath Mountains nurture one of the most diverse temperate coniferous forests on Earth. During this talk we will explore:

*What is a conifer?
*Why are they harbingers for climatic change?
*What are some of the exceptional conifers of the region?
*What are some areas/species that need further study?
*How can I get into the field and explore more?
