The Friends of the Dunes Coastal Naturalist Training is an extensive program designed to educate interested community members about local coastal habitats. The four-week training includes classroom and field sessions with topics that cover dune botany, salt marsh ecology, Wiyot history, marine ecology, wildlife, restoration, land management, interpretation, and much more.
Sessions are led by experts, including professors, geologists, botanists, historians, and long-time naturalists. Participants will finish the training with a rich knowledge of Humboldt's coastal environment and a well-rounded understanding of stewardship efforts.
Additional Public Info: Class will meet Thursdays and Saturdays from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. Pre-registration is required. Contact Center Activities for more information!
Price: $40 HSU Students, $60 All Others
