Professional teaching background

Nora has been teaching students for over 15 years. She taught Environmental Education at a K-8 school in rural Guatemala as a Peace Corps volunteer and has taught middle school, and high school here in Humboldt County. She currently teaches Spanish at McKinleyville Middle School and in the School of Education at HSU. She also teaches Spanish to adults at Fuente Nueva Charter School.

Outside interests: When I’m not at HSU, I…
Nora loves to travel, garden, run, read, and volunteer in her daughters’ classroom. Nora has been on the Charter Council for Fuente Nueva Charter School for the past 3 years. She is on the Spanish Immersion committee for Fuente Nueva. She runs the occasional half-marathon and loves a long afternoon at Moonstone Beach with her family.
