Kayak Roll Session

June 15 & 22

This course will initially concentrate on learning improved bracing. From there we will progress to combat roll instruction. This will be accomplished with a combination of individual instruction and practice time at the Arcata Community Pool. If one of these dates doesn’t work with your schedule please contact us about private kayak roll instruction.

Lifeguard Certification Course

June 16 - 21

This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to recognize and eliminate common aquatic hazards, accidents and injuries. Participants must be at least 15 years of age and have excellent swim skills. Includes training and certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Class space is limited.

Teen Strength & Conditioning Program

Session I: June 16 - July 11

Open to all teen athletes, this program includes exclusive, individualized training in the areas of plyometrics, speed development, strength development, power development, agility, Olympic lifting and flexibility.

Program Fee: 
$80. Sign up for both sessions and receive $10 off the program fee.

Two training sessions available each day: either 1:00- 3:00pm or 5:00 - 7:00pm • Monday - Thursday

Introduction to Archery

June 20

Introduction to Archery is open to archers of every skill level. This course is designed to introduce beginning archers to the basic fundamentals of the sport in accordance with the National Training System; this includes: proper posture and alignment, aiming, the release and follow through. This class will utilize the hands-on application of using a bow and arrow in conjunction with demonstrations and lectures. This course will also discuss the proper care and use of archery equipment.

Backpacking the Lost Coast

June 20 - 22

Looking for a bit of a challenge, but aren’t ready to traverse steep mountains? The Lost Coast of southern Humboldt County is an area that is unique to the entire coast of California. It is the largest road less area on this coastline, with 25 miles of dynamic ocean views and un-crowded beaches. This trip takes place on the northern segment of the Lost Coast Trail. Though the trail is moderately level, the soft sand and traverse rocks make it an ideal challenge for any backpacker.

Gear, clothing, food, packing and backpacking basics

Climbing Camp

Session I: June 23 - 26

Learn essential climbing skills in a fun, challenging and supportive environment. Instructors teach climbing technique, safety checks, knot tying, belaying and clear communication. Our days will include team building challenges and games to help build climbing skill and knowledge, agility, self-esteem, responsibility and confidence.

Aquatics Camp

Session I: June 23 - 27

Get ready for one of the most well‐known summer camps in Humboldt County! This camp offers a variety of aquatic skills for campers of all skill levels. Campers can look forward to many exciting activities, including flatwater kayaking, canoeing, surfing, stand up paddling and sailing! Our caring and supportive staff also teaches water safety, environmental education and promotes positive group development.

Program Fee: 
$285 for entire camp. Inquire about daily rates.
Program Fee Includes: 
Camp staff, transportation, aquatic equipment, daily snacks and food for the camp out beginning with Thursday’s dinner.

Rafting the North Coast

June 28

Join us for a day of adventure on one of the North Coast’s premier stretches of Class III whitewater, intermixed with serene, relaxing sections ideal for swimming and wildlife viewing. The river we choose will be dependent on river flows and conditions.

4th of July Paddle

July 4

Paddle along the Eureka waterfront and “raft” up to watch the fireworks with our amazing aquatic instructors and guides. For those that would like to stay dry for the evening, our second story balcony will be open serving light snacks and refreshments to all participants.

Power Hour

July 7 - August 7

A circuit program that incorporates equipment such as: sleds, prowlers and tires, to encourage a high intensity motivational workout. This class is geared to improve muscular and endurance fitness.
