Surf’s up for a popular favorite geared toward both our newest and veteran campers. Participants will enjoy both group and individual surf instruction on their choice of bodyboard or surfboard. Also offered during this four day camp are ocean safety and awareness, as well as positive group and personal development. This camp is ideal for both the experienced and beginners alike.
As the ancient Hawaiian form of surfing, Stand Up Paddle Surfing has reemerged as a popular and fun fitness form. The introduction course provides the essential information and skills needed to enjoy paddling on flat water. Enjoy the sights of our local waterfront, while getting a fun workout at the same time. Topics covered will include equipment, basic paddling technique and board maneuvering as well as health benefits.
This program focuses on developing paddling skills to get your teen started in whitewater kayaking. During the week, your teen will be introduced to the basics of kayaking on flatwater with a progression to moving whitewater. The focus will be on boating safety, basic strokes, boat control, hydrology, wet exits, and rolling the kayak. A combination of inflatable kayaks and hardshell kayaks will be used depending on the individual needs and skill progression. Teens will have plenty of opportunities to create new friendships and will finish out the week with an overnight campout on the Trinity River.
Come out for a week of exploration and fun on Humboldt Bay! Campers will learn kayaking and water safety skills, as well as a respect for the wonderful marine environment that we have in Humboldt Bay. Activities include general kayak instruction and rescue techniques, Humboldt Bay ecology and history of Old Town Eureka Waterfront, and a variety of games and skill-building exercises. Join us for a day of adventure on one of the North Coast’s premier stretches of Class III whitewater, intermixed with serene, relaxing sections ideal for swimming and wildlife viewing. The river we choose will be dependent on river flows and conditions.
This camp is perfect for the ocean-minded teen who is looking for a fun and exciting adventure. All skill levels are welcome, from those who have never seen the ocean to those who would like to refine their skills. This week consists of group and individual surf instruction, ocean safety and awareness, team building activities and plenty of saltwater action. The week includes a two night campout near Crescent City.
These classes are one-hour long, medium intensity aerobic workouts. Tuesday and Thursday mornings class is held in the deep end area and all other classes are held in the four-foot lap lanes.
This class is designed for expectant mothers and new mothers who would like to begin or continue an exercise routine.
