Wilderness First Aid / WIlderness First Responder Recertification with WMI of NOLS

Coming Fall 2014

This two-day course covers the basics of emergency care with an emphasis on extended care situations. A Wilderness First Aid certification card is awarded upon completion of the class. This certification is becoming the standard for First Aiders who are more than one hour from more advanced medical assistance. In order to recertify Wilderness First Responder through this WFA course, students must have a current WFR certification from WMI, SOLO, NOLS, WMA or WPT. Students are required to submit a photocopy of their WFR certification cards on the first day of the course. There is a one-year grace period for recertification of WMI & NOLS cards. (Keep in mind that you are not current during this grace period and therefore cannot work as a Wilderness First Responder.) Please check your WFR certification closely. WMI will not recertify cards from organizations other than those listed. CPR is not included. Please note that the registration deadline is well in advance of the course. Minimum class size is 15. For more information on how to prepare for the WFA/WFR Recertification course, visit the following web address: www.nols.edu/wmi/about/faq.shtml#prepare.
