SUBJECT:          Resolution for Ballot Initiatives Regarding the HSU Campus Smoking Policy

1.)              WHEREAS,  an Associated Students general election is to be held on April 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2010; and,

2.)              WHEREAS,  The Associated Students of Humboldt State University believe in the democratic process and the rights of individuals to make decisions about issues that affect their lives; and,

3.)              WHEREAS,  Students have expressed concern regarding the smoking areas on campus and the disregard of such areas by a portion of the campus community; and,

4.)            RESOLVED,    that the following questions be placed on the Student General Election Ballot for the election of April 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2010 in addition to the Counseling and Psychological Services fee already on the ballot;

Smoking:

1)            Should all forms of smoking be banned on campus?
a.    Yes
b.    No

2)      Should enforcement of smoking areas and smoke-free zones be improved?
c.    Yes
d.    No
